Norwegian Spiced Krumkake Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar, white
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter, unsalted
  • 2 eggs, medium
  • 1 tsp. of zest, orange
  • 1/4 tsp. of cloves, ground
  • 1/4 tsp. of cardamom, ground
  • 1 & 1/2 cups of flour, all-purpose
  • 1 cup of milk, 2%

Norwegian Spiced Krumkake Instructions:

1. In medium-sized bowl, cream butter, orange peel, eggs and sugar together. Sift flour, cardamom and cloves together.

2. Next, add the dry ingredients to creamed mixture and alternate additions with milk. Mix till the batter is fully smooth.

3. Grease krumkake or waffle iron with veggie spray or oil. Turn heat to med-low.

4. Place 1 tbsp. batter after another into middle of iron. Close and hold it shut. Cook for 15-20 seconds, turning the iron over when halfway done. Remove the krumkake from the iron. Roll them into cones. Repeat with remainder of batter and serve.
